Introduction Post

Hey Everyone,  I am so excited to start my new journey on a new blog that's all about me and my life. I decided to write an introdu...

Weight Loss

I decided to share my story with everyone in hopes that I can help someone.  Growing up I was always chubby and because im a short girl the weight always lingered in my thighs, butt, stomach and arms. I was constantly picked on because of it too, but it didn't steer me away from eating, it actually pushed me deeper into eating even more.  I didn't really become Morbidly Obese until my early 20's, probably around 22-25 y/o and my weight spiraled out of control. At just 5 ft tall I reached my highest weight, 265 lbs in 2016.  I went home and I cried to my mom and from that day forward I changed my life. I did have setbacks but I never gave up. I kept going and accepted my setbacks and never used my setbacks as an excuse to give up. I changed my eating by cutting carbs and calories and I also cut out fast-food nearly 95%. The other 5% I tread lightly. I haven't had KFC, McDonald's, Burger King and so on for as long as I could remember, and most importantly I haven't had a Soda in forever and I feel so much better.  At 29 y/o I now weigh 205 lbs in 2019. Sometimes I will go as low as 202 lbs and then ill go back up just a little, but that could also be water weight and I am now on a water pill and I stop drinking fluids after 7 p.m. I also take hot epson salt baths at night which also helps with water weight.

Sometimes when you're Morbidly Obese eating 1200 calories a day will make weight loss near impossible or very, very, very slow to show results.  What im about to share is what works for me. Everyone is different and of course I am not a doctor.  I eat between 500-600 calories a day during the week. I know, pick your mouth up off the floor. I normally start my morning off with a meal replacement shake from Slim Fast and it does keep me full for 2-3 hours. I have my snack around Noon (usually a small bag of popcorn or fruit), and I eat dinner at 4 p.m no later than 5.  Dinner for me is usually baked chicken breast with a salad on the side or if im not really hungry ill drink another shake.  I repeat this same routine everyday during the week. Friday & Saturdays I kinda eat what I want but I take portion control very seriously. If I get Subway I will get a 6 in sub rather than a foot long.

I cut out Ice-cream for the simple fact it's a weakness for me and I can never eat just 1/2 cup, so I went the Sherbet and Popsicle route. Less in Calories and a great alternative.

SO HOW DID YOU REALLY LOSE WEIGHT?

  • I pay attention to the serving size.
  • I bake more than I fry.
  • I eat little to no bread, even if it's said to be healthy. When I do eat bread it's usually the fit and active bread that's 45 cal a slice.
  • I monitor my carbs, calories and sodium intake.
  • I use very little salt.
  • I curb any extra eating urges by chewing gum.
  • I exercise, even if it's cleaning, dancing, etc. I move around.
  • I do the sea salt flush "once in awhile..."
  • I constantly weigh myself. I take weight gain very seriously now. It's easy to slip up when you don't have great self control.
  • I stopped with the excuses. I have my own medical battles, but if I can still walk and feed myself, ain't nobody stopping me from losing weight, but me.
  • I believe the compliments. People compliment me all the time about my weight loss and I don't brush it off. I honor it.
  • I meditate from my room. That's right, you don't need to go somewhere fancy.
