Cantu Vs Shea Moisture, Which One Is Better?

By Me. - September 19, 2019

So I am a big sucker when it comes down to LEAVE-IN Conditioners because I love when my hair is moisturized and feeling healthy. I'm not one to buy expensive products, however once in awhile ill fold and buy something new that may of been trending just to test it out. Now I used Cantu for a very long time before I started trying Shea Moisture. This blog is actually a hard one because to tell you the truth I actually like both. So to make sure this is an honest review I am going to judge both of these based on price, does it work and is it worth it.

First up is Cantu LEAVE-IN Conditioner with Argan Oil. I started off using this first for a few years until I started reading about alcohol being in it, but then I went back to using it after doing my own research on it and found out the amount of alcohol in it is not sufficient enough to be concerned about.  The smell is great, the texture is a thick cream and it left my hair feeling soft and manageable. I would normally buy this from Walmart or my local Beauty Supply store for up around $6, and you get a good amount in the container for up to 4-5 uses, depending on how often you use it and how much.  What made me stop using it is I had to use a lot, in order to keep my hair moisturized. Other than keeping my hair soft and manageable, I felt like it added no real value or benefits to my hair.

I then found Shea Moisture LEAVE-IN and I got to reading and it's a lot that I loved about Shea Moisture. I love that I didn't have to use a lot to lock in moisture, and it worked perfectly on my relaxed hair, and it contained Jamaican Black Castor Oil, something I love. Did I mention I actually noticed a difference in my hair? I sure did. I did notice some growth and it made my hair easy to manage. The smell is amazing and you get enough to have atleast a good 3-4 uses out of it, depending on how much you use it. The texture is soft and creamy, not runny at all. I usually buy this at Walmart for up around $12, when I do purchase it.

So which one is better and worth it? I would have to say in my opinion I like Shea Moisture better. It's more natural and offers more benefits that you actually see. Well I know for me atleast. It's not that pricey either, especially since other hair care lines are now charging near $15-20 bucks for small containers that are half filled with LEAVE-IN conditioner.  However, if you're on a more stricter budget, Cantu isn't bad either.
