Affordable Hair Products That Actually Work

I'm going to jump right in when it comes down to VIA Natural oils and say these oils are simply amazing. Are these oils 100% Argan Oil, Cocoa Butter Oil, etc? No. However after reading the ingredients they're a mixture of several other oils as well, which helps add even more benefits all in one. So for these to be $0.99 is just amazing. As long as you're not heavy handed you can get a good 2-3 uses out of these bottles. They even have Jamaican Black Castor Oil, but I ran out and no longer have the bottle. But honestly when it comes down to Castor Oil I like to go 100% undefined.
If someone asked me right now which one is my favorite oil, I would have to say without a doubt Peppermint Oil, and that's only because I wear box braids alot and have itchy scalp sometimes. It literally soothes my scalp and it doesn't dry it out. It keeps it cool, fresh and clean for a few days before I have to add a little more.
Olive Oil Growth Lotion by Africans Best is a really good leave in lotion that will leave your hair feeling soft, hydrated and will make it easy to manage. I personally feel it did help my hair grow some, especially my ends. That's just me though. I usually buy this from Walmart for around $3.99 or my local beauty supply store for $4.99. You will never pay above $5.00 for this lotion, and if you are whoever is selling it is ripping you off. This lotion is very affordable and it could last up to a month depending on how often you use it. I put this in my hair about twice a week. It definitely locks in moisture.
DOO GRO, I love all of their products except for the Growth Oil. I felt it was personally a rip off. Now Mega Thick Intense Repair is a winner for me. I have long, but relaxed hair which takes away the thickness. When I use this my hair loves it and I get my thickness back. It does everything it says it's going to do. Most of all, you get alot in the package.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil also known as JBCO in the hair community. Now this is the only priciest thing on my affordable list. I got this small 2 oz bottle from my local beauty supply store for $6.99, I know. But it's worth it and in my opinion it's still affordable compared to a growth oil that cost nearly $20 bucks and you're lucky to see results. Atleast with the real JBCO pictured above with no salt added, which is very important. I actually saw results on the first use. I didn't have to keep buying multiple bottles in hopes it would work because it did what it was suppose to do. I grew my eyelashes, eyebrows and hair with it. For a much bigger bottle you'll pay up around $11.99 for the Sunny Isle brand, and that's usually an 8 oz bottle.
As you can see you really don't need expensive hair care products to keep up with your hair. More than likely you're just paying for the name or just overpaying in general. I still wash my hair with $1 V05 Shampoo & Conditioner and my hair is always left smelling good and clean. It makes no sense to pay $10 or more for Shampoo & Conditioner unless it's medicated for a scalp condition. I know I left out a lot of other good stuff, so I probably come back with a follow up blog. It's not about being cheap, it's about being smart.
